Is the cream of the Atlantic, crystallized in the clean salt pans, situated in the Ria Formosa, utilizing the natural recourses, sea water, sun and wind. Flower of salt is the result of these elements working together forming floating pink crystals which are collected by skimming twice a day with special tools designed by this producer. When collected they are put into a perforated box to drain and dry by the alt pans. Later they are sent to the storage, where they are packaged in various forms for the consumer who obtains a product which is 100% natural.

This is a producer with a registered Trade Mark number 360713V of INPI, the producer is registered in his own name and comes from a family of salt workers, and this activity has been continued through 5 generations, the knowledge past from father to son. The work of preparation of the salt pans, controlling the crystallization, the collecting and the marketing of the product. The products are flower of salt and salt traditionally harvested, the area of the salt pans, which is his own property, is 13 hectares, and is considered a model example of a Salina.
The location of the Salinas is the RIA FORMOSA Natural Park (a reserve for shell fish and other marine life) where the mud is of a special quality. It is close to where the ocean enters the park which is important to the quality of the final product; this can be proved by the appearance of the pans the analysis of what they produce and the subsequent certification.
This producer pioneered the production of flower of salt in Portugal 2 years before the other producers, initially for export and later for the home market.
In the year 2000 the products of flower of salt and traditionally collected salt was certified by Nature & Progress in France, with a book of norms for collecting storing and controlling the final product. The product is inspected by SATIVA for Nature & Progress and accredited by IFOAM. It was initiated a system of auto-control for production and packing of alimentary products. It is in implementation a HACCP system, for a external of specialty and certified company of the national and international level for the effect.
