In 1994, Bernard Castelain founds the chocolate factory, in the heart of the famous vineyard in Chateauneuf du Pape, in Vaucluse. He creates his first chocolate, "Le Palet des Papes".
Solicitious over the quality of the products, the chocolate factory makes every day high standards chocolate by selecting high quality raw materials and adding a traditional know-how honoring the french gastronomy.
In 2000 Benard Castelain signs the charter specifying that the chocolate is worked in the respect of the French tradition called "Chocolat de France". The same year the chocolate factory received the ECOCERT certification and manufactured ist first organic chocolates.
In 2003, the "Pur Beurre de Cacao" charter reinforced it's quality commitment.
In 2004 the production was moved in Althen de Paluds, and the historical site in Chateauneuf du Pape was transformed into a place of chocolate products presentation and sales.
