Pu'er tea is a specialty tea that undergoes a complex process of gradual fermentation and maturation with time. There are two types; raw and ripe, based on processing method. The manufacturing year is labelled. There is a common rule: the older the better. Thats why older pu'er tea is more expensive. It is sold as compact cake, round shape and weight 360 grams traditionally.

Shwe Taung Ko Lone Brothers Company is located in Ko Kang region, in Tar Shwe Tan village. Sundry green tea is the core output from the 50 acres tea plantation and is processed in the nearby factory. The company also produces red tea, silver buds green tea, Pu'er tea and Wild green tea.
The company has grown quickly since 2010; anno 2018 the company’s green tea products under the Ko Kang brand can be found in many Myanmar retail stores. Another important growth market has been takeaway teashops.
The company employs 30 people who work in the factory as well as in the teahouse. The family company, now being managed by the third generation, has ambitious plans for the next five years. With its range of tea-based value added products, in the first place Pu'er teacake, the company plans to conquer the Chinese market in the next few years.
