EPD (Environmental Product Declaration) is a voluntary product certification scheme focusing on the environmental performances for a product, a process or a service, in order to improve their sustainability. EPD is developed in compliance of the UNI ISO 14025:2006 regulation (3rd type eco label); the environmental informations reported are based on Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) in compliance with ISO 14040 regulation.
Environmental Impact Assessed
Care for sustainability of productive processes is more and more a distinguishing hint in agrifood and agroenergetic supply chain.
CCPB in collaboration with Soil&More International provides “CO2 Neutral”, a new certification for CO2 offsetting. “CO2 Neutral” minimizes the environmental impact through carbon credits, after having assessed the carbon footprint of a product, process or service. In this way, a company improves its environmental performance and may propose communication strategies from the perspective of Ecodesign.

Consorzio per il Controllo dei Prodotti Biologici Soc. Coop. was founded in 1988 by a group of companies working in the production and distribution of organic agrifood, with the aim of providing rules and guaranteeing consumers and market.
Consorzio il Biologico has always had as a primary goal: the expansion of their activities creating promotional events in the organic world, such as fairs, meetings and editorial press office.
All companies working in organic agrifood, in compliance with our terms and conditions, may become members of Consorzio. Members may attend all events promoted by Consorzio and, in particular, attend those trade fairs in which a group participation is organized. Members may also use Consorzio il Biologico logo “Controllo Biologico” on certified products and on communication material.
The Consorzio il Biologico has been set up to group together a number of significant agri-food companies at national level.
Their aim was to create a more natural and sustainable world with the use of innovation, advanced technology and research and to supply a system of guarantees for consumers and market.
These principles are still valid today, evidence is that the present members of the Consorzio are a diversified group of historical Italian companies, well known all over the world and several agri-food companies that have turned their production to organic. Together they represent a large part of the Italian organic market.
