Hudisa began in 2002 and is located in the heart of the province of Huelva. Hudisa is the product of the commitment, the commercial vision and the future of the group of the 19 most important berry producing Cooperatives which are undertaking a vertical integration in the transformation of the fruit industry.
Our company processes and markets purées, concentrates, and frozen strawberries, raspberries, blackberries, and blueberries which originate in the province of Huelva, the largest fruit producing area in in Europe and the second largest in the world. It produces three different product lines: Conventional, Babyfood, and Organic.
We are currently the leading company in southern Europe for the volume of berries processed, with a production capacity of more than 20 million kg/year.
Hudisa has facilities of more than 6,000 m2, strategically located in a production area, which allows us to ensure the fruit arrives in perfect condition. There are two processing lines, a concentration area, and two aseptic packaging lines in our factory. We also have a frozen line and storage area that ensures the perfect preservation of the product’s organoleptic qualities. These facilities allow us to reach a maximum daily production capacity of 350 tons/day.
THE LAND, THE ORIGIN
More than 1,000 farmers currently give life to Hudisa and take optimum care of the fruits that we later process. And the best results can only be achieved with the best raw material. In addition, throughout the production process, our team of agricultural engineers carries out the monitoring and control needed to achieve an excellent harvest.
The cooperatives that make up Hudisa are based on the work of families who, for generations, have worked the land and who know the perfect conditions necessary to obtain the best fruits.
All our suppliers are GlobalG.A.P. certified which covers food safety and environmental impact, as well as the health, safety, and welfare of the workers. Our work is based on the experience and the diligence of the farmers who have been part of Hudisa from the beginning.
INNOVATION AND RESPONSIBILITY
At Hudisa we maintain collaboration agreements with technology centres to find improvements in product preservation and new product development. In addition to making investments to upgrade facilities and machinery, the company invests in its workforce by offering ongoing training and internal promotion. We also work to reduce the impact of our activity on nature and our environment: our business is based on sustainable agricultural practices because we need to protect our farmers and their land.
OUR INDUSTRIAL PROJECT AND COMMITMENT TO QUALITY
Our corporate philosophy is based on clear objectives: to preserve the natural quality of the fruit during the entire process, to ensure quality control and food safety at all stages, and to meet the expectations of our customers, as well as satisfying their needs.
QUALITY FROM THE SOURCE
As a method of ensuring quality, products, and services, Hudisa has developed its own system to guarantee that the product is picked from the field and arrives at our facilities in less than 24 hours, thus ensuring the organoleptic qualities of the original fruit. During this time period, and following rigorous quality control we guarantee that only healthy fruits at the optimum ripeness point are accepted during the process, and the non-ripe white fruit, the leaves, the caps, and foreign bodies are extracted, and that there is no decay or infection. This ensures that the quantity, quality, and other characteristics meet the established quality standards.
In addition, the proximity of the production areas to the processing plant allows the fruits to arrive in optimum condition.
