CCPB has introduced a special certification scheme for natural cosmetics. This scheme lays down a Production Standard, complete with the minimum requirements set out in the Inspection Plan, and it has been devised by a team made up of experts from companies and associations operating in this sector.
Operators wishing to obtain certification for their natural cosmetics are required to meet the requirements and fulfil the obligations in the Production Standard, and they should submit the appropriate application for certification, accompanied by the relevant appendix and other necessary documents, including the Technical Code of Practice whose basic features are listed in the accompanying Guide Lines, and they should sign both the financial agreement, which CCPB will make available, and the certification contract, which implies acceptance of the terms and conditions of the certification regulations and their appendix.
On receipt of the above documentation, CCPB will assess these documents and then arrange for an onsite inspection of the production sites, following which a decision will be made about certification and, if appropriate, a certificate will be issued with subsequent listing in the register of products.
Once operators are part of the certification scheme they are subject to further surveillance in order for CCPB to check that compliance with the specific Production Standard is being maintained.
