Our tradition allows - only the best
A quick look behind the scenes as Maintal Konfitüren
Our success story began as far back as 1886. In that year Josef Müller established a wholesale business for plant-based food and regional products in the Franconian town of Hassfurt, initially only selling tea, herbs, dried fruit and rose hip seeds, before he then began with the production of marmelades and jellies in 1889. Today, more than 130 years later, Maintal Konfitüren is one of the oldest producers of preserves in Germany, with a long tradition of continuity and quality spanning several generations. Anne Feulner, together with Klaus Hammelbacher, is now the fourth generation of the family to manage the company, taking over the reigns in 1999, and she personally guarantees the highest standards when it comes to production and quality with her name.
From harvest to the finished product - our products are lovingly produced and guarantee a very special fruity taste! Our range of preserves, jellies, fruit spreads and marmelades is now as varied as nature itself. Rose hip, ginger, strawberries, cherries, apricots, sloe, quince... the list just goes on and on. Thanks to the wide variety of our delicious fruity products, our customers really are spoilt for choice. And we are constantly coming up with new creations in order to meet consumers tastes.
Our flagship, however, is and remains the Hiffenmark, better known as rose hip preserve outside of Franconia. One out of every two jars of this fine, velvety preserve sold in Germany is produced by us. This makes us Germany’s market leader with 59.8% (Source: Nielsen, 2015).
Values such as trust, credibility and tradition are very important for us. It is in this way that we, as a family company, assume our responsibility of retaining resources for the generations that will follow us. Over the course of the past number of years we have permanently invested in our production facilities and in an energy concept, which has allowed us to significantly reduce our water and energy consumption levels. Since October 2016, we are also one of just a few companies that are certified in accordance with the ZNU standard, which means that we meet the highest demands when it comes to sustainable action in the areas of environment, economy and social issues. Against the backdrop of all these efforts, it is clear that we are against genetic engineering.
The numerous distinctions and awards from independent taste and quality tests impressively demonstrate the quality of our products time and time again. This is how Anne Feulner and Klaus Hammelbacher, together with their staff, can justifiably claim: “We love fruit. And you can taste it.”
