Hooidammer is a brand of cheese company Henri Willig. Cheese company Henri Willig is a family business, which was founded in 1974, by Henri and Riet Willig. We are an independent producer of Dutch specialty cheeses. The production locations are located in Heerenveen and Katwoude.
We coorperate with about 60 different milk suppliers, whom provide us with conventional and organic cow, goat,sheep and Demeter milk. The total production capacity is 65 million kg milk per year. World wide we sell around 5000 tons of cheese per year.
In the year 2001, we took over the company Hooidammer, a company with a strong reputation in the organic cheese market. As we strongly believe in an organic future, this was a logical step in the development of our cheese making activities. Although we still rely on conventional production, organic cheese is now our fastest growing product group.
Our mission is to produce and supply Dutch conventional and organic cheese specialties which distinguish themselves from others in quality, taste and origin.
As a company we work closely together with our milk suppliers. By open and clear communication with our farmers, we are able to ensure the highest (consistent) quality of milk. It also ensures us that milk production, takes place in an natural and animal friendly environment. Working this way, we produce an honest and consistent quality product, which has been monitored from supplier untill the customer.
