Natasha Bowes, a former Russian figure skater, founded Bio-tiful Dairy in early 2012 to fulfil her dream of introducing a range of delicious, high-quality cultured milk drinks (Kefir, Baked Milk Kefir and Kefir Smoothies) to UK consumers.
Natasha has been drinking Kefir and other cultured milk drinks ever since she can remember as a child. It was particularly vital to her, as she was mildly lactose-intolerant, which Kefir subsequently helped to cure. Later in life, when she was training as an athlete for the Russian figure skating team, Kefir was an essential part of her diet and health regime to help her stay fit and healthy. These drinks pick you up every day, even more so if you have any digestive tract issues or after taking a course of antibiotics. But when she moved to London she could not find any that lived up to the quality and taste she was used to. So after a long corporate, high-flying career, Natasha finally set about creating her dream – her own cultured milk range – Bio-tiful Dairy.
Natasha is a perfectionist as far as quality is concerned and came from a very different business sector. So first she undertook an extensive research of the ancient recipes and the best production practices and methods. She drew on this vast knowledge base, including the existing large-scale production facilities for fermented milk drinks in Russia, as well as the specialists in cultured dairy products in the UK.
She did not rest until she found the perfect production bases and recreated the authentic, natural recipes. Using the very best of British milk and superior live cultures, she was able to produce the highest quality drinks, both in terms of nutritional value and taste.
The timing for this range of drinks was perfect as the range reflects the current strongest trends in the UK food market – health and convenience.
