VITAM Scrambled Tofu is the aromatic spice blend for seasoning your scrambled egg style tofu dishes.
It combines the favourite ingredients of this all time classic in vegan cooking, like sweet paprika powder, aromatic thym and hearty rosted onions in a ready to use mixture, which has been carefully rounded with a dash each of garlic, chilli and yolky yellow turmeric. The very special, egg-like taste derives from the Indian Kala Namak salt.
Vitam Scrambled Tofu Spice Blend can be used for tofu frittata or omelette as well as like a Chaat Masala, spinkled over fruits and salads, in mango lassi or cucumber rajitas.
Ingredients: Roasted onions*, onion powder*, Kala Namak salt (12 %), paprika powder*, turmeric*, nutmeg*, garlic powder*, thym*, pepper*, chilli powder*, potato starch*, (* organically grown ingredients)
Preparation: Mix 1 heaped tablespoon (17 g) of the spice blend into 100 ml of water. Stir fry 150 g of tofu with a little oil in a non-stick pan until yellow and crumbly. Add spice blend and continue stirring over heat until designated consistency is reached.
If you like, season with a tablespoon of B-vitamin rich nutritional yeast flakes.
