Zea mays (the scientific name for the common corn) has its origins with the word the word Zao, which means “to lead to life”. Therefore, from its etymology, we can gather that corn is good for us.
It is indeed one of the most important cereals in the world. Corn is widely farmed everywhere and it is the base of the traditional cooking of Latin America and of some European and North American regions.
Corn is completely gluten free and it is rich in iron and minerals: it is useful in case of anemia and good for celiac people, pregnant women and during the weaning of children.
Together with rice and chickpeas, whom good properties are already well known, corn makes a healthy and inviting mix, suitable for everyone. As a matter of fact we dedicate this product, that aims to bring on our tables the consistence of Italian pasta and the typical taste of legumes, to everyone.
