BioTropic specialises in the production, import and pan-European sales of organic fruit and vegetables from five continents. Our unique features include our own agricultural engineers – who are active around the globe – as well as our own banana-ripening chambers in Duisburg, where our head office is also located.
We have branches in Italy, France, the Netherlands, Spain, Costa Rica and the Dominican Republic. This allows us to have direct trade relations with countries all over the world. We get to know our organic producers personally through our work on-site and have been working with many of these as partners for long periods of time.
As well as our trade relations, we also run our own small cultivation projects in the Dominican Republic and the Ivory Coast. We therefore understand the challenges presented by organic cultivation and are able to communicate on a par with our organic producers.
BioTropic began its work in 1997 with the import
of organic bananas from the Dominican Republic. Now we are procuring organic fruit and vegetables of all kinds from the most diverse regions on earth.
From apples, avocados and mangos to lemons and onions – these are just a few examples of products we are able to offer all year round in various different packaging varieties.
More than 50 committed BioTropic staff around the world ensure that the consumer is provided with high quality organic fruit and vegetables.
Our eight agricultural engineers are readily available to provide advice and conduct checks, and also ensure that the products are regularly examined in accredited laboratories.
Our fully air-conditioned stockrooms in Duisburg offer:
a large area of approx. 4,500sqm exclusively for organic fruit and vegetables
