The master programme Sustainable Food Systems is an European Joint Degree Programme combining the expertise of six leading European higher education institutes in the field of agricultural and food sciences: In Germany University of Kassel and Fulda University of Applied Sciences, ISARA-Lyon in France, University of Agricultural Sciences and Veterinary Medicine in Romania and as associated partners  Ghent University in Belgium and Aarhus University in Denmark.

Objectives: We educate young professionals in the food industry, providing a helicopter view on the whole food chain from farm to fork. The focus is on sustainable food production and management, and the implementation of food processing and other food production related activities. Our graduates are competent to initiate discussions on environmental and corporate social responsibilities. They have the skills to develop implementation strategies for sustainability aspects and to communicate in an intercultural context. The international perspective is an integrated part of the learning environment and the curriculum.

Students choose to study at two institutions at minimum. E-Learning facilities are available.

Career Opportunities: Graduates will be able to work in an international and intercultural work environment in management positions in the food industry. Typical fields of expertise are:

Start of the Programme: annually in September
Final Degree: Master of Science M.Sc. (Joint Degree), 120 ECTS credits
Duration of Study: 2 years (3 academic semesters, 1 semester master thesis),
