At Seakura we’re passionate about seaweed and we’re passionate about bringing the benefits of seaweed to a wider audience. In fact, we believe that seaweed might just hold the answer to world’s growing food crisis.
That’s why we’ve developed a highly efficient and sustainable way to cultivate seaweed in land-based eco-pools. You might think that’s odd. Why grow seaweed on land when there’s already plenty in the ocean? Two reasons:
first because, like fish, ocean-harvested seaweed can be contaminated by pollution and second, because harvesting seaweed from the sea can disrupt the ocean’s delicate eco-system. That’s why you’ll find our farm, not in the ocean, but in the Natural Reserve of Michmoret, located on the coastal strip between Tel Aviv and Haifa, in Israel.
