If you are not by the dark chocolates our 55% cacao content chocolate features a sweeter taste. Even tough it doesn't loose the intense flavor of the wild cacao beans.
In our company, SUMAR Ltda. (Suelos y Manos Amazónicos Racionales - in English: Soils and Hands Thinking Reasonable (Sustainable)) we produce at origin high quality chocolate based exclusively on wild growing cocoa beans in remote areas of the Bolivian Amazon. These trees here have not seen or received any human presence or assistance during centuries. Its age dates back for long to pre-columbian times. Ours is the single company working along the whole production process with wild cocoa, from the trees in the Amazon area to its final package and trading.
In our production process we return to the original way of making chocolate, using only the three basic ingredients: Cocoa paste, cocoa butter and sugar, avoiding the usage of cocoa powder, soy-lecithin or any other emulsifiers and flavors. Due to the origin of the cocoa beans and the adequate process we give it the result is a pure and aromatic chocolate with excellent quality
Regarding environmental and social principles we are efficient protectors of the amazon forest, we adhere to the idea that “As long as there is a hunger man in the jungle, the jungle is under risk”. This way the inhabitants from the amazon villages find in the nature´s production an economic income and so they protect the jungle to make it sustainable.
