Just water and flour that become bread and pasta: the most extraordinary invention in history.. Gino Girolomoni
Our story began in 1971 in the hill of Montebello (Isola del Piano, Italy), thanks to the initiative of Gino Girolomoni, the father of the organic movement in Italy and founder of the cooperative. He left us in March 2012, but he left behind him a mark that will continue into the next generation.
The intense work commenced by him with the Co-op contributed substantially in staunching the flight from the countryside and in developing organic farming in Italy.
At Montebello you can touch utopia. Gino Girolomoni

MISSION AND VISION
Abstract from our Cooperative Charter: “… all the farming activity will have to be managed with methods granting an absolute genuineness of our products, in order not to cause any damage to the consumers’ health, following the organic method…”.
We go “beyond organic”, using energy from renewable sources, paying a fair price to the farmers, promoting the use of a sustainable conduct by our employees, interacting constantly with all our stakeholders and being an important part of the local economy.
Visions cannot be explained. When it’s time, they can be told or sung or cried out, it depends on what they contain. Gino Girolomoni.
