Henri Willig is a family business, which was founded in 1974 by Henri and Riet Willig at the ‘Jacobs Hoeve’ in Katwoude, near Amsterdam. Apart from the familiar mature cheeses we offer an extensive range of herbal cheeses that are produced following unique recipes. We have production locations in Heerenveen, Friesland and at the family farm in Katwoude near Amsterdam. Together they account for a total of more than 300 employees. The total production capacity is about 70 million kg milk per year and we sell around 5500 tons of cheese per year, distributed to more than 50 countries.

Our organic cheeses are produced in a natural way and to the highest possible standards. The delicious milk comes from award winning organic and organic-dynamic farmers. The cheeses are produced to the highest European Organic standards and the cheese is allowed to mature at its own pace. Besides cheeses of different ages, there are delicious herbal recipes to be savoured. Each cheese is especially made for the real cheese lover who wants to make a conscious choice.

We are driven by our passion for cheese. Our innovative cheese makers continuously work on new flavour combinations in order to provide tailor-made cheeses for our customers. In total we know produce over 30 varieties for our growing legion of delighted fans.
It is our mission to produce the best organic Dutch cheese specialties based on their quality, flavour and provenance. We strive to expand the recognition of our organic products.
We want to increase our share in existing markets and additionally, we want to seize opportunities to enter into new markets.
Our organic cheeses are cheeses made from organic and organic-dynamic milk. This means that our farmers (almost 60) devote special care to the environment, the development of nature and animal welfare. In our production process, we comply with the strictest standards in respect of processing, flavoring, preservation, packaging and storage. This is reflected in the various hallmarks and certifications, awarded to our organic cheeses. We show that pure enjoyment and responsible production are perfectly compatible.
