However varied the Ellenberg family's potato range may be, structurally it is common at their farm in Barum in Lower Saxony:
The farm located in the district of Uelzen / Lüneburg Heath has been handed down from generation to generation. Since 1984, this is owned by Karsten Ellenberg, who grew up here and literally learned the potato cultivation from childhood. After a short time operated pig fattening he devoted himself from 1991 again completely the tuber production, switched to purely ecological agriculture and began to breed own varieties. Their sales and other administrative activities rest in the experienced hands of Petra Ellenberg, the personal and corporate heart of the farm.
The Ellenberg's have passed on their experiences over the years to his sons Hannes and Julius. Both have grown up with the potato cultivation and will run the farm once with the same passion as their parents. The fact that they are taking over is for the grown-up children from the very beginning - because the Barumer potato variety should be passed on from generation to generation as usual.
