It boasts long-standing expertise in organic wine growing which is rooted in the family’s genetic make-up.
Its organic approach was initiated by Jean Vialade in the 1970s. A visionary for his time, the charismatic
leader of the Occitan movement, chairman of the Ribaute co-operative winery and director of Château de
Pech-Latt, Jean made Ribaute the first 100% organic village in Europe.
Locally born and bred Claude Vialade founded SAS Les Domaines Auriol in 2000 from the family’s bastion
in the Corbières. She established a new concept of trade by promoting conventional and organic winemaking
The granddaughter and daughter of winegrowers, Claude is imbued with a family culture that shows respect
for people and their environment.

The rigorous standards required to protect the eco-system and pave the way for wine growing in the next

preserved by mankind.
Today, with a total of 1,500 hectares, Domaines Auriol offers a broad-ranging spectrum of grape varieties,
growths, Châteaux, organic wines, Demeter-certified biodynamic wines, and wines with no added sulphur.
The latest innovations involve certified vegan wines made in accordance with criteria that show respect for
life (all inputs are certified free of animal testing).
A vine conservation collection is currently being assembled with disease-resistant grape varieties, local
endemic grape varieties and crosses.
