29, 75 ha planted
14,000 kg of dried hibiscus flowers
6,000 kg of hibiscus seeds
35,000,000 FCFA of turnover expected
The mature flowers are harvested by hand or with a knife. Once the harvest is complete, the calyx or seed should be carefully separated from the flower with a knife, without damaging the flower.
Moisture being the enemy of drying, it must be done in a dry place, sheltered from the sun and well ventilate - on a shelf or pallet covered with a sheet, never in direct contact with the ground. The flowers should be dried until their residual moisture is less than 10%.
The dried flowers obtained are packaged according to the prescriptions of the customer.
