40 years of organic dairy Aurora!In 1980, we, Harry and Janny ten Dam, founded the dairy De Dageraad. Today, the dairy has grown into a flourishing family business. Due to the intensive contacts abroad - we decided, twenty years after the foundation, for the name Aurora. This name is similar to De Dageraad (Dawn) and stands for the hope and the opportunity to start each day anew. Now in its second generation, our children Manon, Joris, Tim and Daan are also actively contributing to the further development of the company.The cheese is still made in Ven-Zelderheide, a small village in the province of Limburg, in the Netherlands. The new building of the cheese dairy in Kranenburg (NRW) is finished and production started. Gradually, we will relocate the entire production to Germany. In October, we will also start the factory sale in an adjacent store.Forty years after its foundation, the name Aurora is synonymous with organic and biodynamic cheese.The milk for our cheese is obtained from selected organic farmers in our region. It is our concern to support a biological and sustainable agriculture that stands for the preservation of a healthy environment for humans and animals. For the cheese we only use organic, organic and demeter milk from extensive grassland management.These areas offer numerous animal and plant species attractive habitats and breeding grounds. The result is a rich and high-quality milk for our cheese - cheese with added value for nature.
