Agriblea company was founded in 1998 by Giorgio Agosta in Sicily because of his desire to realise a dream and his deep love of farming. Giorgio, known as Gino has a dream to put the “Ciappa” on tables all around the world, the sun dried tomato, an
organic product preservative free that belongs to the farming Sicilian tradition. Gino’s dream came true thanks to his family’s support and the exceptional and extraordinary collaboration of his working team. Nowadays the sun dried tomato by Agriblea delights is made in Italy but known and appreciated in Europe, Japan and America. Agriblea"s strength lies in its production process. The sun dried tomato is obtained exploiting the favourable environment conditions, typical of south-east Sicily, and the organic agriculture, which enhance the organoleptic properties of the products. Respect for the environment is a top priority for the company. For this reason Agriblea is using an innovative irrigation systems to reduce water waste, photovoltaic installations to generate electricity, 100% compostable packaging. The “Ciappa” is a traditional food farming product approved by Sicilian Region authority and certified by BRC, IFS, Biosuisse, Globalgap, Grasp, health and safety authorities and it is under the European law of HACCP and strict food safety standards.
Agriblea is situated in Val di Noto territory, just 2 kilometres far from Ispica, in the Ragusa province. The site is a Unesco world heritage. It consist of important archaeological elements, and many Baroque and Liberty masterpieces. The unspoiled natural landscape is made of long fine sand dune of Santa Maria del Focallo beach, wild canyon Cava d’Ispica and the nature reserve of Vendicari.
