PROCAT: Project to improve the competitiveness of the pineapple sector in Togo
Since 20 years the organic pineapple from Togo has been known and appreciated by EU consumers!
In the regions Maritime, Plateau and Central of Togo, there are over 2,000 small scale organic pineapple farmers organised in cooperatives, who are the main source for the organic companies based in Lomé. Their proximity to the regional port hub offers smooth transit and the best logistical conditions for the international transport of goods. Currently around seven organic certified companies, which are still classified as SMEs, offer fresh pineapple, dried pineapple and pineapple juice.
The PROCAT project (Projet d'appui à l'amélioration de la compétitivé de la filière d'ananas au Togo), financed by the European Union (EU) and the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ), focuses on strengthening the competitiveness of companies in the pineapple value chain and supports market access tolocal, regional and international markets.
The PROCAT project team will be delighted to inform you about the details of the project, link you with the companies according to your product specifications and monitor your first delivery professionally and neutrally.
