Jung Fruchtsäfte - Good for the region & good for me
"Our heart beats for the native orchards!"
Since 1993 we have mainly been producing certified organic juices, juice spritzers and cider from Black Forest orchards. For about ten years Klaus Jung has also been refining selected old varieties into pure noble brandies.
We now cultivate over 25 ha of orchard meadows in the Black Forest and the surrounding area. We constantly lease and buy new areas, e.g. meadows that have not been cultivated for a long time. We consistently convert non-certified areas to organic farming - thus making an important and active contribution to the preservation of the cultural asset of the orchard meadow, which provides a habitat for up to 5,000 animal and plant species.
Our focus is on old fruit varieties that can no longer be found in the retail trade and have lost economic importance in recent decades. This is accompanied by a steady decline in orchard meadows, which we want to counteract with our work.
In order to meet our demand for fruit, we also buy regional fruit in order to give owners an incentive to continue to cultivate their meadows.
We are a member of Slowfood and a partner of NABU (Naturschutzbund) Kaiserstuhl and produce a special NABU apple juice. For these apples we pay a significantly higher price to the members than the usual market price in order to support the work of NABU and also to promote the preservation of the orchards.
Short distances and regionality are very important to us - that's why we try to produce our raw materials ourselves as best we can and buy them regionally. Exotic products such as orange juice, mango puree and passion fruit juice are exclusively sourced in organic quality and from fair trade. We have already visited the farm in Fortaleza, Brazil, which produces our orange juice, in order to get a better idea of where our juice comes from and what the production conditions are like.
