Schlossgut Hohenbeilstein exclusively grows certified organic grapes on 14 hectares of partially steep, terraced slopes on Keuper soils. This family-owned winery in Wuerttemberg combines a long tradition with the internationally apprenticed craftsmanship of owner Joscha Dippon in producing award-winning red, white, and sparkling wines, some of which mature in oak barrels in the centuries-old wine vaults.
Ecological Viticulture since 1987
Already since 1987 Hartmann Dippon focused – as one of the very first in Wuerttemberg – the ecological way of wine-growing. For nature and for future generations. Working hand in hand with our nature – that´s what “Schlossgut Hohenbeilstein” defines. Though, wild herbs, grasses as well as other plants grow in the vineyards and the idyllic park all around the winery. To strengthen the vines, artificial fertilizer is relinquished. Instead, self-made compost but also rock flour, plant extract and clay minerals are used. Courage, lots of experience and hard work is shown all along in the wine.
Member of “Naturland” since 1992
From 1992 on (Joscha`s year of birth) “Schlossgut Hohenbeilstein” is member of the association called “Naturland”. The association is well-known for natural agriculture. Two years later, the whole organic winery was certified as ecological viticulture. Every year takes place an inspection and re-certification.
Member of „VDP“ Wuerttemberg
Moreover, the family winery belongs to the elite circle of the “VDP” (association of German quality and “prädikat” wine estates) Wuerttemberg.
Best Organic Winery of Germany 2018
For the first time, the international “Mundus Vini Biofach” honored our winery as the best organic winery in Germany.
This year in July 2019, Joscha Dippon is the new owner of the winery - in third generation. In working together with his wife and his parents, tradition meets innovation. Joscha is convinced of established procedures but also open-minded and creative in developing new products and ideas.
