We are a farmers’ cooperative producing organic pasta.
We also produce other grains and pulses and we market rice, tomato sauces, extra virgin olive oil, and couscous under the brand Girolomoni®.

MISSION E VISION
Girolomoni® is not only an organic pasta factory. It is the reconquest of the land against the arrival of the agricultural chemistry, against the logic of profit and speculation, against abandon, with the aim of proposing a new way of living the land and giving new prospects to the Italian rurality.
It represents a way to give new life to the values of the farming culture, such as the respect for the human being and the nature, through the development and employment of renewable energy, the fair price paid to the farmers, the development of the local economy and finally a product from raw materials with guaranteed Italian traceability at a fair price. Such a lifestyle is promoted and spread through the teaching farm, activities, meetings and a magazine published each three months by the Girolomoni Foundation, named Mediterraneo Dossier.

Our story began in 1971 in the hill of Montebello (Isola del Piano, Italy), thanks to the initiative of
Gino Girolomoni, the father of the organic movement in Italy and founder of the cooperative.
In 1977 his experience gave birth to the cooperative Alce Nero Cooperativa Agricola. The brand was sold in 2004 and left the place to the brand Montebello, with a design representing the Monastery of Montebello, recovered by the family Girolomoni.
After the sudden passing of Gino in March 2012, the Co-op has changed its name into Gino Girolomoni Cooperativa Agricola, that today continues to live with the young generation.

We have thirty-year experience in the production of organic pasta. We have the highest-technology
machines, following though the traditional method of slow drying.
There are 50 people working and 300 farmers engaged in our supply chain in Italy. Our company is 100% organic and we are certified by IFS.
We export in more than 25 countries and our main markets are France, Germany, U.S.A., Spain and Japan.
Turnover of year 2018 was 12 mln €.
We have always dreamed of managing the whole supply chain. Today thanks to the realization of our own mill, we finally “found” the missing link and we become the first medium-sized cooperative that governs the organic food supply chain from seed to pasta.
Our Cooperative is ready to face a new challenge, preserving the soul of organic food.
