COOPSOL, a beekeeping community cooperative and BEES FOR HOPE, a social economic organization, are working together to improve the conditions and production facilities of fair trade and organic certified honey. We are operating in the province of Santiago del Estero in northern Argentina.
Chaco's forest is one of the few primary forests in the world and offers a great diversity of trees and plants. Their way of living and their land are frequently threatened by significant deforestation caused by intensive agriculture. Beekeeping is a great tool to stop deforestation. Despite the fact they have lived on the land in many generations they can’t defend themselves because they don’t have land titles or formal property
In order secure a fair trade price which will give the beekeepers the opportunity to increase the number of hives and develop their beekeeping activities, Bees for Hope and Coopsol are committed to support the communities exporting part of their production to US and Europe.
