“Zaafrania”, such was named this inspiring company, founded in 2017 by two women PhDs in plant biology, which embarked on the unique experience, a culture that has disappeared for centuries in Tunisia, that of producing the "red gold": saffron, the world’s most expensive spice with innumerable health claims. Producers of organic saffron 1st category according to the ISO 3632 standard, but not only.... Zaafrania is committed to working in respect of the planet and women. It seems essential to reason the actual cultural practices, to stop land pollution and to feed people while respecting nature and women. That’s why Zaafrania saffron is manually harvested, sorted, processed and packaged only by rural women. Believing that their satisfaction and the improvement of their situation are essential not only to the well-being of people in rural communities in general but also essential to the promotion of economic productivity.
