Sometimes a step forward is simply a step back to pause, watch, drop ballast, and start again
Sigrid runs her vineyard in Gols near Lake Neusiedl together with her husband Erwin and their children. The son Sebastian will take over the viticulture, the daughter Victoria is very close to the business, she is still looking for her agricultural challenge. They work biodynamically, according to the guidelines of Demeter Austria, out of the deep conviction that a biodynamic economy can be adjusted the best with the natural landscape.
They see their main task in the care of the soil, because only a living soil allows healthy plants to thrive that bear ripe fruit. Sigrid allows the vines to be of their essence, interfering as little as possible with the vegetation. While working in the cellar Erwin limits himself to supporting the peculiarities of the individual wines without changing, without forcing, comparable to a Waldorf school.
They are all authentic in sales, they love to stay in direct contact with their clients.
Everything sounds minimalistic, but means full commitment for the family. The clear advantage here is to be flexible and spontaneous, and most importantly: quality control from start to finish, they are involved in every step of the process.
Out of this spontaneity, new ideas and products keep coming up, such as pure grape seed oils and flours, because the vine gives more than wines, but these are very special!
