Van der Plas b.v. is a family business specialised in the field of sprouts.
It all started with a single product at Van der Plas: bean sprouts. A number of years later the company expanded, from a bean sprout nursery to sprout nursery and with three luxury sprout varieties; Alfalfa, Radish and Bean Sprouts. We now boast an impressive 25 different varieties! Van der Plas Sprouts has grown into one of Europe’s biggest sprout producers and is a trendsetter in the field of sprouts. Van der Plas also places food safety high on its list of priorities, in addition to sprout and packaging innovations, and has acquired each necessary type of certification; SKAL, FSSC 22000 and the eco-label. Van der Plas is also a sprout grower approved by the Dutch Food and Consumer Product Safety Authority (NVWA).
All sprouts are cultivated using hydroculture at Van der Plas. The average sprout growth process is between 5 to 10 days. Our specialism and the turnover rate allows us to freshly harvest our products 365 days of the year. The sprouts are washed straight after harvesting, after which they are immediately placed in cold storage.. We package most of the sprouts ourselves. The sustainable PVC-free packaging will soon be available in a resealable version. The different packaging is subsequently distributed throughout the Netherlands and the rest of Europe.
