The grapes are processed only by hand and fermented in amphorae. A fruity and pleasing wine with notes of plums and rum, with a spicy finish.
Peter Riegel was a typical child of the alternative movement in Germany. During his time as a student, his interest in politics, literature and history didn`t stop him from opening a starterup store selling wool in the historical old town from Constance, by Lake Constance. Not just any wool of course, but special hand-spun, plant dyed or wool produced by friends in the paltry area of south French Lozère. Meeting with people who had set up a network of German-Okzitanien friendship, became the foundation of something akin to „fair trade“ between politically active but economically disadvantaged winegrowers from the French Languedoc, and the trade with wool was then supplemented with French wine. In any case, these ideals with their enthusiastic representatives were so inspiring that the wine tasted excellent and was sold with the corresponding motivation. Now, over 30 years later, the fascination for organic wine is just as strong as ever. There is no longer any political motivation, but a passion for good wine, environment and nature.
