Kissed by the sun
At the foothills of Mount Olympus grows a special tea herb: the Greek mountain tea.
Yellow flowering fields cover the sunny hillsides of the holy mountain in Greece. In the region around Mount Olympus grows the variety Sideritis Scardica. Passionate tea drinkers therefore call it the original amongst Greek mountain teas. The hairy, branched shrub has a strong rootstock. It mostly grows on stony and dry soil at a height up to 1,000 meters. Besides essential oils, Sideritis Scardica contains numerous secondary plant substances such as flavonoids and tannins. Amongst others, the latter ones are responsible for the flavour and the mild-spicy taste. Salus® uses exactly this variety for the new tea.

Pure relaxation
After a stressful working day the Greek Mountain Tea invites you to relax. It can be perfectly refined with honey, cinnamon or lemon juice and thus offers a special pleasure for the palate. The unique mild-spicy taste of the tea reflects the many weeks of growth given to the herbs in the Mediterranean sun. Already in ancient times, Greek shepherds therefore enjoyed the delicious tea infusion to forget the sorrows and efforts of the day. Greek Mountain Tea is now available in proven laboratory tested Salus® quality and completes the vast range of mono teas.

From organic cultivation to protect the nature
The demand for Greek mountain tea is high. To protect the wild growing herbs, Salus® refrains from wild collection. The raw material for the tea is from organic cultivation.

The filling of the bushy and voluminous Greek Mountain Tea requires special care and is manual work. It is filled in the Wendelstein work centres (certified work and development centres for handicapped people).
