50 years Schnitzer 50 years of nutritional expertise
In accordance with the motto „sensible eating – conscious enjoyment“ on an area of some 7,500 sqm Schnitzer produce and market today a comprehensive portfolio of high-quality, tasty bread and pastry products, exclusively in organic quality and applying their many years of acquired know-how in the healthy nutrition, gentle processing and preservation.
From the Black Forest to the world
The family owned business from Offenburg in South of Germany, next to the Black Forest has been an active and successful company in the health food sector for 50 years. The company´s founder Dr. med. Johann Georg Schnitzer, at that time dentist, developed a programme for wholesome food based on cereals and raw food that provide the human organism with vital nutrients from natural sources. From this period the Schnitzer´s Household Grain Mills were occured and still exist today in many households to grind fresh wholemeal flour.
Whole-food nutrition made easy
At the beginning of the 1980s independent artisan bakeries were trained by Schnitzer in wholefood baking skills and whole-food nutrition were made available for the humanity.
In the 1990s, a range of packaged wholesome baked goods was created by the newly established Schnitzer Food division.
Competence and innovation combined with pleasure
Since 2001 Schnitzer produces gluten-free organic baked goods under the highest standards with regard to the purity of the raw materials and the hygiene in the manufacturing process. In 2006 the company introduced the first gluten-free beer based on millet to the market. After a comprehensive investment in modern production facilities combined with the first IFS Food certification in 2016, Schnitzer is now one of the largest manufacturers of organic gluten-free baked goods.
