The company group "Vičiūnai" was founded in 1991 and within the last 20 years has developed into one of the largest and economically strongest fish and surimi producers in Europe. It is a modern as well as traditional food company offering not only frozen and chilled fish and surimi products, but also a wide range of breaded products, pizzas, seafood and ice cream.
The group supplies the products through the brand "Viči" to more than 58 countries around the world. The "Vičiūnai" group consists of 80 companies in 17 countries. The products are manufactured in 13 production facilities. The group has about 8000 employees.
Refrigerated and deep-frozen products are manufactured in the group's own production facilities: UAB "Plungės Kooperatinė Prekyba" and UAB "Vičiūnai ir partneriai" in Plungė, Lithuania; AS "Paljassaare Kalatoostus" in Tallinn, Estonia; OOO "Vichiunai RUS" in Sowetsk, Kaliningrad; Sistemos Britor S.L.U. in Spain. Bread products are manufactured in the UAB production plant "Plungės duona".
The "Vičiūnai" group of companies specialises in the production of fish and dough products. The product range consists of more than 3000 products with the brands "VIČI", "Esva", "Columbo" and other brands.
The entire group produces 160,000 tons of food per year, 85% of which is exported. Export is carried out in 5 regions: Baltic States, Western and Central Europe, Scandinavia, Eastern Europe and Asia.
In order to achieve customer proximity, a sales office "VG Handel GmbH" was founded in Germany in February 2010, with headquarters in Cologne.
