TRAD Y SEL coarse grey salt is harvested every day in summer from the clay beds of the salt marshes, which give the salt its grey colour. Grey salt is unwashed, unrefined and additive-free.
TRAD Y SEL grey sea salt can be used for cooking, salting stocks, in traditional dishes such as pot au feu or stews, or for cooking shellfish, pasta or rice.
It is also excellent for the traditional curing of fish and meat, due to its fast action.
Because it is a moist salt, it is one of the best salts available for cooking in a salt crust. This cooking method gives meat or fish an incomparable moistness and imparts a delicate flavour when mixed with herbs and spices before cooking.
Our coarse salt melts rapidly, so is recommended for bread baking and meat curing.
Its balneotherapy properties, for humans and animals, have long been recognised.
Each product in the TRAD Y SEL range comes in packaging adapted for professional use: restaurants, delicatessen, bakery, as well as processors looking for Guérande salt for their finished product ranges.
Coarse grey salt and products from coarse dried salt are all available in large packaging sizes. Packaging in buckets is adapted to frequent use – buckets are stable and easily closed.
