Since 1998 ReinSaat has been providing an extensive offer of varieties for commercial horticulture and domestic gardens which are adapted to the needs of organic farming methods. In particular, we are committed to combine quality which is reflected in appearance, taste and aroma with reliable yields.
Our over 30 propagation facilities are located in varying climatic zones in Austria and the neighbouring countries. An important focal point of our work is the development of regionally adapted open pollinated varieties which enable to improve the plants health and to coordinate the harvesting time more easily for the growers.
Variety and outstanding quality of the open-pollinated seed varieties are the result of long-standing and responsible maintenance breeding. For this purpose, ReinSaat permanently exchanges information with other breeders, similarly structured seed companies and organisations.
Together with breeding establishments from all over Austria as well as European partners from the EU neighbouring companies - all of which are recognized organic farms –ReinSaat focuses on the GMO-free seed propagation and sustainable development of the offered diversity of varieties.
The networking of European organic seed producers is underlined by the collaboration with Kultursaat e.V. Since 2013 ReinSaat has also been propagating vegetable varieties of Kultursaat (German Association for Biodynamic Vegetable Plant Breeding).
This ensures that valuable seed potential will be preserved. Robust varieties will in future guarantee healthy and tasty vegetable diversities for commercial markets and amateur vegetable growers.
