On October 01, 2015 Vegablum was founded by the "fleißigen Blümchen" (Danny & Stephan) in Meerbusch. Vegablum is the first manufacturer to produce many vegan alternatives to honey, mead and honey liqueur. Homecrafted Vegan Liqueurs made from fruits and plants are also available at Vegablum.
Wonig, a vegan alternative to Mead idea started because Danny always liked to drink it on medieval markets. But mead needs honey and Danny saw a gap in the Market to help share the experience with Vegans so they experimented with dandelion flowers for delicious dandelion “honey”. Wonig was born.
After the summer and when the Wonig was sold out, Danny and Stephan continued to experiment and created the Apple Wonig from apple juice. It is already available in many delicious varieties like ChiliX, cinnamon and vanilla. After that, Innovation went into overdrive with many more experiments with different flowers, of which only a few have made it into the assortment. But there will certainly be more varieties in the future.
With the homemade honey, a vegan alternative to Mead was created. This is produced just like real mead, only with Wonig and not with honey.
In November 2017 Vegablum launched the first organic vegan alternatives with fair raw cane sugar, which are now being produced in large quantities for wholesale and organic trade.
Danny and Stephan are passionate vegans for ethical reasons as they fight for the rights of animals, because animals have as much a right to life, freedom and integrity as we humans do.
Every detail possible is considered when producing Vegablum vegan Products on how to promote animal welfare globally and locally. Therefore, all products are guaranteed without animal ingredients, as well as palm oil free. The choice of fruit varieties for the liqueur is as regional as possible and if that is not possible, organic ingredients are chosen. The labels are casein-free and vegan and now also from organic grass paper.
At the same time Danny & Stephan point out with our vegan alternatives that honey is not vegan.
Honey is NOT Vegan, it is food produced by Bees as Milk is food produced by Mammals. Danny and Stephan have tried to offer a sustainable Vegan Alternative because they care about the World in which we live. This is also reflected in their animal loving sponsorship of Animal Sanctuarys, the Green electricity which their operation runs on, their green recycled printed paper, the green power which runs their website and their Bank. Wherever possible Danny and Stephan use recycled materials in their packaging.
Honey makes Bees Buzz, don’t take away their buzz, use Wonig from Vegablum instead.
