The red Emmalie is a red-skinned, high-yielding, mainly waxy, medium-early table potato variety. It is characterised by a red flesh colour and a finely spicy, aromatic flavour. The plant pigment anthocyanin is responsible for the red flesh. Similar to raspberries and strawberries, this substance is even considered to be beneficial to health. The elongated variety is very suitable for processing because of its smooth skin and flat eyes. Potato of the year 2018! The variety has been approved by the Bundessortenamt since 2012 and is also on the EU list.
