Selected, fermented and solar dried high quality cocoa beans from certified organic small-scale production.
The COPOAM - Cooperative for Organic Products from the Amazon - was founded in 2006 and is located near the city of Medicilândia, in the State of Pará, on the Transamazônica Highway, which crosses the Brazilian Amazon from east to west.
The cooperative currently has 30 members who cultivate organic certified cocoa on a total area of 366 hectares. COPOAM focuses on the production and marketing of high-quality, fermented and certified cocoa beans, and is committed to the dissemination of ecological forms of production in the region with the aim of contributing to its socially, economically and ecologically sustainable development. By exporting the organic certified cocoa, smallholders achieve a higher income; the cooperative thus helps to reduce social inequalities and creates incentives for sustainable production in harmony with the environment.
