The NOVO BlueCards basic material is wood pulp, a cellulosic co-product derived from waste
material in the paper production, which is normally disposed or thermo recycled. The reutilization of the material is energy and resource saving and thus very environmentally friendly.
The card material is 100 % free from polyvinyl chloride (PVC), phthalates (softeners) or bisphenol (BPA). It does not contain heavy metals, flame retardants or solvents.
The ingredients of biopolymers are Polyhydroxyalkanoates (PHA), Polycaprolactone (PCL), Polyesters (e.g. Bio-PET), starch, polylactic acid (PLA), bio-polyolefins (bio-PE), bio-polyamides (bio-PA), lignin, natural resins, waxes, oils, natural fatty acids, cellulose, biological additives and natural reinforcing fibers.
The material is biodegradable. Industrial composting time is approximately 2 – 3 months, natural composting about 6 months.
The biodegradability of the BlueCard material has already proven its effectiveness in numerous applications such as planting aids, mulching aids etc…
BlueCards are highly flexible and durable – the haptic or “look and feel” is indistinguishable from standard plastic cards.
The cards can be printed one or two sided in offset printing, inkjet or screen printing. Additionally, monochrome thermo-sublimation printing results in durable surfaces. Therefor our BlueCards are perfectly suited for the utilization in high intensity applications, e.g. as hotel key cards or staff ID badges.
If desired, BlueCards can be equipped with RFID transponders, magnetic strips, holograms, writing or scratch pads. Even embossing and chip implementation is possible.
