Are you considering to certify your products to the NATRUE standard?
Two main actions are needed:
•Read the NATRUE Standard to internally assess how to formulate according to NATRUE (or reformulate in case of already existing products). You can find the standard and the respective Annexes at this link: http://www.natrue.org/information-for/manufacturers/natrue-criteria/
•Take contact with a NATRUE Approved Certifier (from this list: http://www.natrue.org/information-for/manufacturers/certifiers/) who will be in charge of the whole certification process. NATRUE does not certify directly. We work with a network of independent certification bodies worldwide. We believe that this ensures a greater level of transparency to our scheme.
By choosing the NATRUE Standard you help consumers to keep greenwashing away. With such a high entry level like the 75% rule meaning that at least 8 products in a range of 10 must be certified, NATRUE differentiates itself to the benefit of the consumers. No other standard offers such a coherent definition of what a natural and organic cosmetic should be.
- We defined 3 categories of al-lowed ingredients taking into account the production processes.
- We categorized the cosmetics into 13 groups - this allows us to the set maximum level of naturalness according to the product type.
- We never count water alone as natural - benefiting consumers against products claiming inflated natural content.
No other standard has been developed to be truly international like the NATRUE Standard.
