BIOFACH Newsroom
BIOFACH World – Quarterly News Update Vol. II 2021

Our lives are currently dominated by talk of the easing of restrictions, vaccination campaigns and case numbers. These are also issues that the trade fair industry is grappling with daily. Whereas in Germany and the USA, restrictions are slowly being eased and trade fairs will be allowed to take place again from September, this is certainly not the case everywhere else in the world. This press release will provide an overview about the current planning for BIOFACH World and show which exhibitions can take place and when.
“It is important to us to have a close relationship with our customers and to communicate transparently with them. Unfortunately, the incidence of infection does not enable us to predict all locations where there is a likelihood of trade fairs being held. We would nevertheless like to provide everyone with as much planning certainty as possible, at least to the extent that we are able to do so. We are looking to 2021 and 2022 with confidence. BIOFACH CHINA and BIOFACH JAPAN have already set an example this year by demonstrating that a trade fair can be conducted successfully given an appropriate event concept and strict adherence to hygiene provisions,” says Markus Reetz, Executive Director International Exhibitions at NürnbergMesse.
BIOFACH CHINA
BIOFACH CHINA in Shanghai, which took place alongside the NATURAL EXPO CHINA, has just drawn to a successful close. Although the event was greatly diminished in scale in 2020, it was able to substantially improve its numbers again this year. More than 10,000 trade visitors learned about the latest trends and products in the organic food and natural and organic cosmetics segments from the over 200 exhibitors. The combined trade fair was organised into four thematic streams complemented by a conference programme: Natural Products Area (natural and near-natural products still in the process of obtaining organic certification, media, service providers, technology and equipment etc.); Brand Products Area (traditional organic agricultural products produced in China); International Products Area (imported organic products) and the Maternal & Infant Products Area (Chinese and international organic products for mothers, babies and children).
Save the date: The 16th round of BIOFACH CHINA will take place in Shanghai from 12 - 14 May 2022 parallel to the NATURAL EXPO CHINA at the Shanghai World Expo Exhibition & Convention Center.

BIOFACH AMERICA
After BIOFACH AMERICA had to be cancelled last year due to the pandemic, this year will see the relocation of BIOFACH AMERICA and the Natural Products Expo East from Baltimore to Philadelphia.
In 2021, BIOFACH AMERICA and the Natural Products Expo East will move from Baltimore to the Pennsylvania Convention Center in Philadelphia. These two trade fairs bring the organic community together and showcase the latest products from the organic food, natural and speciality foods, and health and beauty segments. There will also be digital options to allow interested parties from all over the world to take part in the two exhibitions.
At present it can be assumed that the event will take place, as the progress of the vaccination campaign in the USA and the relaxation of travel restrictions give cause for optimism.

BIOFACH Nuremberg
Following a break due to the pandemic, the prospects are now excellent for the restart of on-site trade fairs by 1 September 2021 at the latest, provided there is a sustained decline in infection rates. For some time now, preparations have also been in full swing for the 2022 round of BIOFACH, the world's leading fair for organic food, and VIVANESS, the international trade fair for natural and organic personal care. Following a successful digital edition in 2021, the organic food and natural and organic cosmetics community will gather at Exhibition Centre Nuremberg for its next event from 15 – 18 February 2022.
A new Tuesday to Friday schedule has been introduced, which will give the various players from the sector an extra day during the week for their long-awaited visit to the combined event. This also allows them more time to share information and knowledge, discover trends and innovations, and enjoy personal encounters with other members of their community.
