Important questions and answers (FAQ) about BIOFACH
BIOFACH will take place on-site and as digital event in 2024! We have answered the most important questions for your participation on-site or at the digital event for you here.
Do I have to be a trade visitor to be able to visit BIOFACH?
Yes, BIOFACH is a pure trade fair, to which only trade visitors from the corresponding industries are admitted. The exhibition is not open to the public on any day. This enables us to secure the quality of the offer for visitors and exhibitors.

Can I bring my pet with me to BIOFACH?
At BIOFACH it is not allowed to bring pets for hygienic reasons, as it is a food fair. Guide dogs are, of course, an exception to this rule.
Are children and/or young people allowed to visit the BIOFACH?
Yes, children and young people can visit BIOFACH. Admission for children and young people is regulated in the following way:
0 to and including 12 years: Free of charge, without legitimation
13 up to and including 15 years: Reduced ticket (29 EUR) without legitimation.
Young people aged 16 and older: must register/legitimize as a trade visitor and pay the regular price.
What address shall I enter in my navigation system?
You can simply enter "Nürnberg". The dynamic traffic guidance system will guide you past all the queues to a vacant parking space. Alternatively, please use the following address:"Karl-Schönleben-Strasse, 90471 Nürnberg" or the special destination "Messe".
Where can I find parking spaces? How much do these cost? Are there disabled parking spaces?
There are enough parking spaces on-site. Our parking guidance system guides you to the vacant parking spaces; the daily charge is EUR 12 during BIOFACH. Parking spaces for disabled people are located near the entrances.
Are there pitches for caravans?
Within walking distance of the exhibition centre, there is a camp site, KNAUS Campingpark Nürnberg, at which exhibition visitors who come with a caravan can rent pitches. No caravans can be parked on the site of the exhibition centre Nuremberg itself.
Is there a shuttle service from the airport/Nuremberg Central Station to the exhibition centre?
No because you can reach the exhibition venue quickly and easily both from the Central Station and from the airport with public transport. You can find further information on this in our travel tips.
Are there lockers at the exhibition venue?
Yes, there are lockers in the entrance areas "Mitte" and "Ost". Use of these is free of charge. The coin that you have to insert to lock the lockers serves as a deposit and will be returned.
Trolleys and suitcases can also be handed in at the coat check at a charge of EUR 2 each.
Can I use WiFi at the exhibition venue?
As a visitor of BIOFACH, you are online free of charge throughout the exhibition venue.
Whom should I contact if I have lost something?
Please contact our colleagues from Security Control Unit (SCU) at T +49 9 11 86 06 70 00. They can tell you if the lost property has been turned in.
Can I buy something at BIOFACH?
No, there are no direct sales.
Is there any childcare facility at BIOFACH?
For parents who have been unable to organise childcare, NürnbergMesse offers a childcare facility in the Service Center Mitte (SCM Mitte, near Mitte entrance). The opening times are are the same as the opening times of the exhibition. Children at the age of at least 3 years are accepted. Drinks will be served. Please provide your children with enough to eat since there is no food served!
How to travel barrier-free?
Barrier-free access by public transport and rail
You can get from the main station to the exhibition centre in about 8 minutes by underground. All underground stations are at least equipped with a lift that goes directly from platform level.

Which services provides the exhibition center?
Parking at the exhibition centre
By displaying a valid disabled parking permit, you can park for free near the entrance to our VIP car park
Our entire fairground is accessible. Facilities at higher levels can be easily reached via our lifts.
Operation Center: First aid and medical support, police
In our Operation Centre near the central entrance, you will find a first aid station run by the BRK (Bavarian Red Cross), police and freely accessible bathroom facilities.
In the event of an emergency at the exhibition centre, our SecurityControlUnit is available to help. Emergency number: +49 911 8606 7000
Washrooms and toilets are located at the Central (Operation Centre), East and West entrances, in all service areas between the halls and at NCC East. The wheelchair-accessible sanitary facilities on the exhibition grounds are freely available.
Free wheelchair hire
You have the option of borrowing a wheelchair for your visit from BRK.
- Normal wheelchair, free on presentation of ID card
- Electric wheelchair, 1st day EUR 100.00, each additional day EUR 50.00.

Visiting with accompanying persons
If you are dependent on an accompanying person during your visit to the exhibition, he/she is entitled to free admission upon presentation of your disabled pass.
Guide dogs are of course allowed.

In a digitalized world, online media is the most important source of information whilst preparing to visit a trade fair. The demand for printed catalogues has steadily decreased over the last few years. As such, and out of environmental consideration, we shall no longer publish a printed catalogue.

How do I get an entrance ticket for BIOFACH?
Tickets sales and voucher redemption will take place online. Register in our online TicketShop to purchase your entrance ticket or redeem your voucher code in advance.
After you have successfully placed your order (confirmation message "Thank you for your order"), you will receive your e-ticket by e-mail. You can also find it in your account by clicking on "View my tickets".

Can I use the public transport in Nuremberg with my exhibition ticket?
With a ticket purchased in our online TicketShop you will be able to use public transport within Nuremberg/Fürth/Stein (Tarif A) when travelling to and from the exhibition grounds on the day of your visit. Please note that tickets which are purchased on site at the entrance as well as vouchers do NOT include local public transportation.
Is my voucher (printed voucher or electronic voucher code) valid for one or several days?
Your voucher ticket is valid for admission for one day.
FAQ for your digital participation
Would you like to attend the event digitally or on site? With the digital platform we make both possible! The digital platform is the perfect tool to organise your visit on site. If you register on the event platform before your visit, you can find out about products and exhibitors in advance and arrange appointments at the stand. And if you weren't able to see everything on site: as long as the event platform is still online, you can still find information and contact exhibitors after the fair.
An online participation is also possible. The digital event platform offers you the following features: you can view company and product presentations, find exchange and dialogue formats such as roundtables, chats and video calls for networking with industry experts as well as selected congress sessions live and on demand. Another integral part of is a matchmaking tool that suggests contacts of interest to you.
If you buy a ticket or redeem a voucher code in our online TicketShop, you will automatically receive access to the event platform in addition to your entrance ticket for the on-site event.
Can the digital add-ons that complement BIOFACH and VIVANESS 2023 on site be accessed by all visitors?
Visitors attending BIOFACH / VIVANESS 2023 in the Exhibition Center Nuremberg will also have access to the digital add-ons, such as the digitally available elements of the BIOFACH / VIVANESS Congress, with their ticket..
Yes, in our TicketShop you have the possibility to purchase a ticket only for the digital event platform. Please note, however, that this ticket is not valid for visiting the BIOFACH on site. The 1-day and permanent ticket in our TicketShop entitles you to visit the BIOFACH 2024, as well as to use the digital event platform.
Approx. 3 weeks before the event, visitors can already visit the digital event platform and perfectly plan their visit to the trade fair.
Will the congress sessions be recorded? Can I watch the congress sessions as a video at a later stage?
Selected congress sessions will be recorded and available as a video on demand afterwards.
The digital event platform is available for approx. 6 months after the trade fair.
During the onboarding, you’ll register on the digital event platform, define your profile, and state your criteria (what you’re offering or looking for) so as to get the greatest possible advantage from the matchmaking tool. The matchmaking tool will support you by suggesting the most interesting contacts for you from among the full list of participants.
During the so-called onboarding, you’ll set up your individualised participant profile on the digital event platform and define your criteria for matchmaking (what you’re offering or looking for). You yourself decide which additional information you want to add to your basic profile and whether you want to upload a profile photo. The profile you set up will be visible on the event platform to other participants to enable you and them to make contact.
As a participant on the event platform, you can contact any other participant at any time. There is a variety of embedded communication tools for this purpose – send a chat message, set up a date for a video call using the integrated meeting tool, or make a direct video call.
If possible, use the latest version of Google Chrome as your browser, or alternatively the latest version of Mozilla Firefox. If you use Internet Explorer, you will have to expect significant display limitations. The standard communication service of the platform is Jitsi. To make sure that this service is usable in your company's IT framework, you might need to consult your IT department prior to participation.
