BIOFACH 2026 provides strong impetus for a sustainable food sector
BIOFACH 2026 unites the global organic community, presenting trends, innovations and forward‑looking ideas for a sustainable food sector. With around 2,200 exhibitors, a diverse congress programme and strong international participation, Nuremberg once again becomes the key meeting point for the sector.

BIOFACH 2026, the world's leading trade fair for organic food, will kick off in Nuremberg and bring together the international organic community from 10 to 13 February. Around 2,200 exhibiting companies from almost 90 countries will present their diverse range of products along the entire value chain. In addition to Germany, the strongest international participants include Italy, the Netherlands, India, Austria, and Spain.
“BIOFACH 2026 impressively demonstrates how broad, modern, and international the organic world is. It is a place for orientation, exchange, and joint creation,” says Dominik Dietz, Director of BIOFACH. “Our task is to highlight the diversity of the sector and to pick up on the ideas that promote sustainable nutrition.”
BIOFACH Congress 2026: Young voices and bold visions
The BIOFACH Congress 2026 invites participants to engage in a cross-generational dialogue that brings together young voices and experienced stakeholders from the field. Under the motto “Growing Tomorrow – Young Voices, Bold Visions,” the organic community will work together to shape perspectives for the future of the sector. The congress offers space for exchange, orientation, and new ideas in eight expert forums and 168 individual sessions – from market and consumer trends to agriculture, politics, science, and sustainability. For four days, a place will be created where visions, experience, and the courage to change come together.
New products and innovations: trends and startups show where the organic sector is headed
The BIOFACH Trends 2026, selected by a trend jury of industry experts, show how diverse the organic market is becoming. The organic sector is increasingly becoming mainstream, which requires a combination of traditional values and future-oriented solutions (Reframing Organic) as well as clear, reduced recipes (Perfectly Simple). The product world is becoming more colorful and is characterized by sensory experiences (Colourful by nature). In addition, modern fermentation and precision processes (Precision meets tradition), functional concepts (Wellbeing in a bottle), and solutions for a healthy microbiome (Oh my gut!) are emerging.
Innovation can be experienced in the exhibition halls: among other things, at the innovation stand, on the trend tours, and on the INNOVATION STAGE. Here, 31 young companies present new ideas and business models in the BIOFACH Start-up Pitches. Together with the International Newcomers & Start-ups and the sponsored “Young Innovators” joint stand, a lively showcase for future solutions is created that offers both guidance and inspiration.
Impulses, inspiration, and orientation
The supporting program at BIOFACH 2026 offers a wide range of formats that provide guidance and inspiration. The PLANETARY HEALTH experience highlights key issues relating to planetary nutrition, dietary change, and whole foods. The special area Organic Food Service introduces visitors to the world of sustainable communal catering with best practice examples, live formats, and ideas.
In addition, the trade fair places a strong emphasis on retail—for example, through the Retail Forum, the MeetingPoint BIOimSEH, and guided tours that bring together product range ideas, market trends, and practical solutions.
Other highlights include formats such as the SustainableFutureLab, Experience the World of OLIVE OIL, and the NextGen workshop area. Together, they make BIOFACH a place where knowledge, exchange, and future topics come together.
India – Country of the Year 2026
India as Country of the Year puts the spotlight on a region that is rapidly gaining in importance. Trade visitors will gain insights into Indian organic products, value creation models, and partnerships. BIOFACH is thus sending another signal for international networking and dialogue-oriented exchange.
